3. Participation in Group Rides

Participation in any group cycling ride is voluntary and at your own risk. By joining a ride, you accept responsibility for your own safety and conduct.

Riders must ensure their bicycle is roadworthy, carry appropriate safety equipment, and comply with New Zealand road rules and local bylaws. Under the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004, cyclists must wear an approved helmet when riding on a New Zealand road unless a lawful exemption applies.

You are responsible for assessing your own fitness, experience, and readiness for each ride. If you have health concerns, seek advice from a qualified health professional before participating in physical activity.

Ride schedules, routes, distances, pace, and conditions may change due to weather, road works, or other factors. We communicate changes to registered participants where practicable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or unchanged service.

Cycling involves inherent risks. In New Zealand, personal injuries arising from recreational activities may be covered by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) scheme in accordance with applicable law. ACC cover does not extend to all losses, and you remain responsible for property damage and losses not covered by ACC.
